The role of the Department of Jobs and Small Business (the department) is to develop and implement policy and programmes to deliver the Australian Government's agenda to create more jobs and great workplaces. This is achieved by: - creating a productive and competitive labour market through employment policies and programmes which increase Australia's workforce participation - facilitating jobs growth through policies which promote fair, productive and safe workplaces - strong and effective network and corporate function which works collaboratively with partners to build capability, support delivery and enhance accountability to ensure the positive reputation of the Department.
